knowledge and skills as you explore the limitless world of ceramics,
unlocking your unique artistic voice.
Course will be offered in English, Spanish, and Japanese, five days a week. Our objective is to help each student discover their unique style of expression our teaching methods, connecting them with their source of inspiration. Students can expect an unforgettable and creative learning experience. The curriculum encompasses the entire ceramic process, including both manual and wheel techniques, various decoration methods, glaze formulation, and standard and special firings. This course is perfect for beginners eager to learn ceramics as well as those at an intermediate level.
Chisato Kuroki

Chisato Kuroki, a Japanese ceramic artist residing in Barcelona boasts 35 years of experience in ceramics and 20 years of teaching. She has been recognized as a winner and finalist in numerous international competitions and biennials, and has participated as an invited artist at various art festivals, as well as artist residencies in Spain, England, China, France and Japan. Her work ranges from tableware and contemporary ceramic sculptures to large-scale experimental kiln projects. Notably, she is renowned for her innovative "Kamigama" kilns, constructed from newspaper and fired with charcoal, capable of reaching temperatures of 1200 degrees in just three hours. Additionally, Chisato has extensive experience in experimental ceramics and performances, including the creation of a tea house—3 meters in diameter and 2 meters high—crafted from 3 tons of clay and fired with wood for the International Kiln Festival.
In addition to her knowledge of Japanese techniques, her innovative spirit drives her to experiment with unique materials, resulting in many original methods. Her raku workshop is renowned and highly sought after for its creativity. As a Kundalini Yoga instructor, she blends yoga and ceramics to discover her own source of inspiration.

Studio
The studio is situated in the trendy Born area, right in the heart of Barcelona, nestled among charming old streets and just a short walk from the renowned Gothic church, Santa Maria del Mar. Housed an 18th-century building, the studio is part of the cultural association Espai Ku, artists come together to enjoy a vibrant atmosphere.
